Wireless Environment Diagnostic Checklist
📢 Message to Partners
The i900M scanner operates on a wireless environment (Wi-Fi), so if a stable network environment is not secured, issues such as disconnections during scanning, speed degradation, and connection instability may occur.
Therefore, checking the customer's network environment in advance before product installation and use is very important. This process is an essential step to maximize the scanner's performance and provide a satisfactory experience for customers.
However, some checklist items may be difficult to verify or time-consuming depending on the customer's network environment or equipment status. In such cases, please seek customer cooperation and understanding, and use additional guidance materials (router installation guide, network recommended specifications, etc.) as needed.
This checklist is designed for partners to easily confirm with customers using simple yes/no questions, and is structured to provide immediate guidance on necessary actions based on the results of each item.
We ask for your thorough verification and guidance.

The connection method varies depending on which software the customer will use. Partners should refer to the table below to guide the customer on the appropriate connection method for their environment. 1️⃣ Medit Link (Used on Laptop) • When Wi-Fi environment is stable → Direct wireless connection via Wi-Fi • When Wi-Fi environment is unstable → Stable use possible with dedicated Hub connection • Note: Both Wi-Fi and Hub methods are possible, so choose according to your environment. 2️⃣ Medit Link Express (Used on iPad) • When Wi-Fi environment is stable → Can use current Wi-Fi as is • When Wi-Fi environment is unstable → Router replacement or additional installation required • Note: iPad-exclusive app, so only Wi-Fi is possible, Hub connection is not supported. 3️⃣ Medit Link + Express (Using both Laptop + iPad) • When Wi-Fi environment is stable → Both products can connect via same Wi-Fi • When Wi-Fi environment is unstable → iPad cannot use Hub, so stable Wi-Fi environment is essential • Note: Router performance is very important. If environment is unstable, Wi-Fi 6 or higher router installation is recommended. |

Dear customer, when using Medit Link, which connection method are you planning? Are you planning to connect the scanner using a Wi-Fi router (wireless router)? Yes: • Frequent movement between chairs • Desire to use wirelessly without hub connection to PC No: • Scanner will be used only in one location (e.g., fixed chair) |

Does the currently used Wi-Fi router meet the recommended specifications for Medit Link Express?
📡 Explanation: The router acts as a bridge that transfers data between the scanner and PC/iPad.
If the router's performance is low, when data congests, the pathway becomes blocked (bottleneck) causing the scanner screen to slow down or freeze.
✅ Recommended Specifications
• Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) or 6E support model • Product names often include "AX" or "6E" • 5GHz / 6GHz frequency band support (older routers supporting only 2.4GHz cannot be used) • High-performance CPU (quad-core or higher) • 1GB or more memory
🔍 How to Check
• Check the model name sticker on the router body • Search the model name on the manufacturer's official website/online store • PC/Smartphone → Check supported standards in Wi-Fi connection info (e.g., 802.11ax = Wi-Fi 6) ASUS Type TP-Link Type NETGEAR Type 💡 Tip: Most routers have a sticker with the model name on the back or bottom. 💻 Check on Windows PC
• Start Menu → Search for cmd and run Command Prompt (CMD)
• Enter the following command: netsh wlan show interfaces• Check the Radio type field in the results ○ 802.11ax → Wi-Fi 6 ✅ ○ 802.11ac → Wi-Fi 5 ○ 802.11n → Wi-Fi 4 (old, not recommended) 👆 Check the Radio type: 802.11ax section (Wi-Fi 6 support) 🍎 Check on macOS (Mac)
1. Hold Option key and click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar
2. Check the PHY Mode field in the displayed information ○ 802.11ax → Wi-Fi 6 ✅ ○ 802.11ac → Wi-Fi 5 ○ 802.11n → Wi-Fi 4 👆 Check the PHY Mode: 802.11ax section (Wi-Fi 6) |

Can you connect to the currently used Wi-Fi immediately without additional authentication just by entering the password?
📡 Explanation: Wi-Fi with weak security or Wi-Fi that requires login screens like cafes and hotels may not allow the scanner to connect properly.
Additionally, the Wi-Fi's Security Type must also be set to the recommended method for stable use.
✅ Recommended Settings
• Must be a password-protected network • Use WPA2 or WPA3 security protocol
🔍 How to Check
1️⃣ Connection Test
• Try connecting to that Wi-Fi from your smartphone/PC. ○ Only password input window appears → Normal ○ Web browser login window appears → Captive Portal (unusable)
2️⃣ Check Security Protocol
• Check Security type in Wi-Fi properties/settings menu ○ WPA2 or WPA3 → Recommended ○ WEP, WPA, None (Open) → Unusable 💻 Also checkable on PC: • Windows: Use cmd → netsh wlan show interfaces command from question 1 to check Authentication field• macOS: Option + Wi-Fi icon click to see Security field in displayed information |

Is the signal strength of the currently connected Wi-Fi good?
📡 Explanation: If the wireless environment is unstable or Wi-Fi signal is weak, data transmission between the scanner and PC/iPad may not be smooth, causing various problems.
For example, the screen may freeze or stop during scanning, scan speed may be slower than usual, data may not be transmitted on time causing delays, or connections may suddenly drop.
✅ Recommended Conditions
• Open Space ○ 1 scanner use → Maximum 30m distance ○ 2 scanners use → Maximum 24m distance • Closed Space (Many obstacles like walls, doors, metal, coated glass) ○ Install as close as possible to scanner usage location ○ Within 10m between scanner and router, preferably line-of-sight distance • Additional Recommendations ○ Keep distance from electromagnetic interference devices like microwaves, cordless phones
🔍 How to Check
• Simple Check: Check smartphone Wi-Fi icon at scanner location → 3 bars or more indicates good signal • Advanced Check: Check signal strength value (RSSI) 💻 Advanced Check on Windows PC
• Open CMD and enter
netsh wlan show interfaces → Check RSSI• Signal field in results displayed as % units 📊 Approximate Conversion Values: ○ 100% ≈ -30 dBm (Very Strong) ○ 80% ≈ -50 dBm (Good) ○ 60% ≈ -60 dBm (Recommended Baseline) ○ 40% ≈ -70 dBm (Weak) ○ 20% or less ≈ -80 dBm (Unstable) 🍎 Advanced Check on macOS (Mac)
• Option key + Wi-Fi icon click → Check RSSI
• Standard: -60 dBm or higher recommended (closer to 0 means stronger) 👆 RSSI: -49 dBm Good signal example |

Are many devices (smartphones, tablets, PCs, etc.) currently connected simultaneously to the Wi-Fi in use?
📡 Explanation: As the number of devices connected to the router increases, like vehicles crowding on a single road, the total network bandwidth gets divided among multiple devices.
This reduces the data transmission speed available to the scanner, potentially causing slower speeds or disconnections during the scanning process. Therefore, to use the scanner stably, it's good to reduce unnecessary device connections and use higher-performance routers when necessary.
✅ Recommended Conditions
• Most stable when simultaneously connected devices are fewer than 5-10 units • More connected devices can affect scanner performance as data gets divided
🔍 How to Check
• Check number of connected devices in router admin page • Or directly identify devices currently connected to the router via Wi-Fi (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) |
