This course has been pre-approved with Radiation Health Queensland, Radiological Council of Western Australia and Radiation Protection Tasmania. This course is considered a Pre-licensing course for laser use. This course is approved to satisfy requirements for Laser Safety Training as well for compliance with AS/NZS 4173:2018. This is compulsory for auxiliary staff in the laser setting in Australia and New Zealand.
This live, one-day course is designed to introduce you to lasers in the dental setting. Lasers are a unique tool which are quickly becoming the next required part of your armamentarium, being applied in all facets of Dentistry. Applications ranging from paediatrics to surgical extraction of wisdom teeth as well as unique applications in veneer removal and pathology.
There will be clinical applications and cases presented in the lecture. This will be theory based and include research and anecdotal evidence. This will give you the confidence to apply the knowledge to your everyday clinical life. This course is recommended for all operators. Auxillaries are welcome to attend. Hands on with lasers in the afternoon.
For operators wishing to gain their Laser User license, there will be a written examination. Please advise if you wish to participate in the examination.
